Understanding Relapse: Slip, Lapse & Relapse

Recovery is complex, and relapse does not mean failure. We help clients understand the nuances of: Slip – A one-time, brief return to substance use, often followed by quick recovery actions. Lapse – A temporary return to substance use, often accompanied by behavioral regression. Relapse – A longer, sustained return to old habits, requiring renewed structure and support.
